In Pakistani Dramas Best Mothers-In-Law

Usually the mother-in-law in Pakistani dramas is the cause of all problems. They are often presented as the most negative and least secure person who makes their dull life a living hell.

While Pakistani dramas are filled with examples of the most sinister mother-in-law, compiling a list of the best of them has not been an easy feat!

Although many dramas air on Pakistani TV every day, most of them revolve around marital life or relationship, there were very few examples of mothers-in-law that could be part of this list.

This basically just shows how mothers-in-law are portrayed in our drama. Usually the sas is the oppressor who does anything to annul her son's marriage.

There's no denying the fact that a lot of women in fact also treat their son-in-law like this, but why doesn't our drama show some rare but good examples of normalizing the good side of this relationship instead of a bad guy?

Thankfully, there have been some mother-in-law in some Pakistani dramas who should be ashamed of zalim! It mainly shows the qualities that her mother-in-law should have.

Their relationships with the Bahas also show how easy things can be for everyone involved if their mother-in-law decides to be the mother.

Here is a list of some of the best mothers-in-law we have seen in Pakistani dramas recently. What makes their relationship special is that the baht was just as good!

Rumi’s Mother-In-Law (Ishqiya)

Rumi has the coolest and most admired mother-in-law we've seen in Pakistani dramas. Although her character appeared in a completely different light in the first few episodes, once she realized that she couldn't pressure Hamza to marry someone he didn't like, her character took an amazing turn.

Although Rumi isn't the typical foyer either, Sasha deals with it well, always with love! Al-Roumi's mother-in-law is a working woman who takes care of her own business and makes sure that her son-in-law feels love.

Her mother-in-law has to be the most balanced because she is not the type to give constantly advice but she has always been supportive in her wonderful way! When this character was introduced,

it looked like she would become one of those mothers who keep plotting against the foyer they didn't want in their home.

However, the character turned out to be very refreshing. Rumi's interaction with her is the best part of this drama. Sima Pasha has done justice to her personality, as she looks smart and graceful, and her performance is always great.

Jiya’s Mother-In-Law (Suno Chanda)

Shandana's character in Sonu Chanda has been people's favorite for many reasons. In Season 1, it was her comic timing and sense of humor that made viewers fall in love with her character.

In season two, she was loved more because she turns out to be her most loving and supportive mother-in-law. Although she didn't even want her son to marry Jia for the longest time, once she made a decision and cleared the misunderstanding, she always stood by Jia's side.

She has been shown to be a wise and loving mother-in-law who always tried her best to point her son in the right direction.

This was one of those characters who showed that her mother-in-law can also be mothers if they decide to love the fawn as if they love their daughter.

Shandana was the type of mother-in-law who never overlooked her son's weaknesses and made sure that she gave her the right advice. Nadia Afjan nailed this aspect of her personality just like all the others.

Sanam’s Mother-In-Law (Dil Ruba)

Hania Amer has had some of her husband's best moms in the dramas she has worked on! Hump's mother-in-law is also her mother-in-law, and from the time of her marriage, her mother-in-law has showered her with love.

She is polite, loving and caring but at the same time totally forward. Despite the death of her son, she still supports Hump and is as anxious for her now as before.

Laila Al Wasiti's talk-show performance and demeanor align well with the character she plays in the drama. This is another character that forever changed as the story progressed.

Sadia’s Mother-In-Law (Yaariyan)

Yaryan was one of the most negative characters and tracks. In this negativity-filled drama, Sadia's mother-in-law is a breath of fresh air.

An educated businesswoman who was also in a tough fight with cancer, Sadia's mother-in-law did everything she could to stabilize and improve the relationship between Sadia and Amir. Regardless, she continued to be neutral and used the time she had to help those who needed it most.

The most endearing part of her personality was that even though she has been going through herself a lot, she always puts other people's happiness before her own.

Hina Bayat is an exceptional actress who has brought this character to life on screen. Her introduction to dialogue and the way she presented herself on screen made this powerful character even more impressive.

Dua’s Mother-In-Law (Ehd-e-Wafa)

Ehd-e-Wafa was one of those dramas that broke many stereotypes so it's no surprise that it also introduced us to one of the most famous husbands moms in Pakistani dramas.

Saad's mother, Hamat Doaa, was one of the most progressive characters we have seen in the last drama. Like all of her other mother-in-law on the list, she also had a life of her own, was educated and conscious enough to steer her son and even her daughter-in-law in the right direction. Somehow, she started to support her son’s wife even before she married Saad.

Doaa was not sure if her husband's family would agree to her mother's life with her, but it was her mother-in-law who made her and Saad realize that this was part of their duty.

All of these mothers-in-law prove one thing and that is very important to show good role models in Pakistani dramas. Writers must break free from stereotypes and project a positive image of mothers-in-law.

This way, they will show the loving and caring side of the woman rather than relying on showing the negative and complicity.

There are so many women who watch these dramas, even if one of them decided to follow in the footsteps of these mother-in-law, the writers would have played their part in bringing about a change in the family system.
