In Current Pakistani Dramas Overacting

Over-acting can sometimes be a requirement of a particular scene when it is appropriate. Most of the time, however, overrated acting is not the requirement of the scene nor is something that viewers enjoy watching in Pakistani dramas.

However, there have been a few instances of late when even the best actors have been seen to exaggerate their personalities. Some channels have started airing dramas that may be dedicated to those viewers who miss the over-representation of Indian soap operas.

It seems that even the best actors in the industry have been directed to deliver exaggerated expressions and overbearing scenes.

So much so, that some of these actors made the most dangerous comic scenes due to this over-acting. Obviously, the responsibility for this lies with the writer and director as well.

Actors often follow the directions given to them in order to fulfill the requirements of the characters written by the book. But then they always have the option not to participate in such projects that end up making people question their abilities as an actor.

Here is a list of actors whose overrated actors make us wonder why they chose to compromise their acting skills in order to please the producers.

Asma Abbas (Zebaish)

It's definitely sad to watch someone as capable as Asma Abbas overreact to the point where there is nothing natural about her acting in Zubaysh.

Although her character has gone through a lot of dangerous situations in the episodes that have been broadcast so far, the screaming and screaming has definitely mitigated the impact of these tragedies.

Usually, the representation of Asma Abbas is completely "held", but in Zubaysh, I crossed the line more than once. The whole drama is a perfect example of exaggeration.

Bushra Ansari (Zebaish)

The fake expressions of Bushra Ansari and her acting in Zebish make the scenes difficult to watch. She could have portrayed the character of the most in-demand actress on screen without being overlooked.

In fact, her performance in the drama makes you wonder even those people in the drama who consider her a star! Why Bushra Ansari decided to keep up with such a project?

Her heavy makeup and styling indicates that at times Bushra Ansari just chooses to be a part of projects that give her a chance to have the best makeovers!

Komal Aziz (Raaz-e-Ulfat)

Komal Aziz has taken exaggeration to a whole new level in head crumbs. The character you play is shallow and funny at times, and the way you portray her on screen is even worse.

Like all the other actors on this list, her overall appearance in the play is as bad as her acting. She was bearable in Mein Na Janoo but in Raaz-e-Ulfat she is simply as unbearable as Mushk.

Even when she's in the hospital, she is seen in complete makeup. Komal Aziz has definitely decided to put her looks before her performance in the drama.

Sonya Hussyn (Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida)

When Sonia Hussain refused to play a jerk in Mere Pass Tum Ho, she gave many clever reasons to do so. She said she used to stand up as an actress and that is why choosing roles that belittle women in any way will never be an option.

Well, she plays a similar role to the role that javelin played in Mere Pass Tum Ho, it's a shallow and greedy woman who will eventually sell her husband. Everyone knows that the drama is a version of the Bollywood movie Godai and it is clear that Sonya was given special instructions to act exactly like Sri Devi in Judai.

While Sri Devi's overrated acting was a perfect fit for the big screen and most people enjoyed it, Sonya's over-acting does not look good on TV. Anyone who wants to know how far you transcribe Sri Devi should go and see the movie readily available online.

Yashma Gill (Pyar Ke Sadqay)

Yashma Gill is another actress who broke all records of over-acting in the drama series Pyar Ke Sadqay. She made sure she put on as much makeup as possible and acted as much as she could which in turn led to her over-acting.

Although Shanzay's character is mostly passive and unbearable, Yashma's over-acting makes her unbearable. Yeshma needs to take it easy! You can't blame the director in this case because the rest of the cast are doing well.

Zahid Ahmed (Mohabbbat Tujhe Alvida)

What is wrong with Zahid Ahmed? First, he chose a terrible project like Mein Na Janoo to work on and now he acts like a cute teen who happens to be a father in Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida.

Obviously, he's trying to sound "comedic" in the role, but in some scenes he watches this adult guy behaving like a kid who isn't cute at all. Zahid Ahmed's performance in many scenes is so exaggerated that you just want to redirect his scenes.

Zara Noor Abbas (Zebaish)

Can Zara Nour Abbas forget all about the character who played her in Ehd-e-Wafa and move on! Aside from the over-acting, some scenes are so poorly written that those scenes that are supposed to make you cry technically make you laugh!

Her reaction when I heard of her father's death was the most hilarious reaction we have seen on television which was more than that due to Zara's bad acting.

Here is an example of the extreme exaggeration that Zara Nur Abbas and Asma Abbas are doing in Zebish! The dialogues are just as funny as the acting even though this is clearly a really dangerous scene!
